Vote absentee in-person

Starting six weeks before an election, if you are a Howard County registered voter, you may request and vote an absentee ballot at the Howard County Clerk's office. You can conveniently request, receive, and return your voted ballot all at the same time and place.

You must make your request in-person or by phone by 5:00 pm the Monday before the election.

To request a ballot you will need to call the County Clerk's Office at 660-248-2284 or fill out this form and drop it off or mail it to the Clerk's Office

Upon completion of the form you will:
  1. Receive your ballot and a large envelope.  
  2. Complete the envelope with the required information, which includes the same information that you provided on the request form. Remember to sign your envelope in front of a Notary if needed. 
  3. Vote your ballot.
  4. Place the ballot into the envelope.
  5. Seal and return the envelope to the Howard County Clerk's Office
